For one more year SEFF Industry has arrived, the space dedicated to the professional activities of the Seville European Film Festival where, from November 11th to the 14th, a large selection of national and European film professionals will meet.

For the third year in a row, we continue to explore the film circulation concept under the slogan Make them circulate! The program includes the Days of Promotion and Marketing for independent film distribution organized by the ICAA as well as a Think Tank promoting the collaboration of European festivals through the first meeting in Seville of the European network of festivals part of Moving Images - Open Borders, a program created in 2017 by the festivals of Cottbus, Linz, Les Arcs, Lecce, Scanorama, Palic and Seville.

The Festival also organizes the first edition of European Co-Productions, a meeting which focuses on Italy as our guest country.  The two-day line-up includes a project pitching session, presentation of funds and opportunities in Spain and Italy as well as one-to-one meetings.

Professional training will also play an important role through different workshops, courses and meetings as well as hosting the 17th edition of the Animation and Videogames Encounter.

The programme is complemented by a special Focus on Short Films, a section dedicated to directors, producers and distributors of short films, organised in collaboration with the Andalusian Agency for Cultural Industries.

EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTIONS

The SEFF hosts the first edition of the European Co-Productions meeting with Italy as guest country. The two-day programme will include a project pitching session, presentation of funds and opportunities in Spain and Italy as well as one-to-one meetings between the selected projects and other professionals in the sector.

EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTIONS: ITALY - PROJECT PITCH

Project pitching of the selected ones in the 1st edition of European Co-Productions. Italian or Spanish feature-length fiction or documentary films that are in the development phase and that seek or have co-production potential with the other country will be screened.

Individual meetings between the participants of the selected projects and professionals from the film industry attending the SEFF.

 The projects pitch, one-to-one meetings and other activities will take place on 13th and 14th November and they will be open to 2019 SEFF accredited professionals.

This event is an initiative of the Seville Film Festival, the Association of Andalusian Film Production Companies ANCINE and the General Association of the Independent Film-Audiovisual Industries AGICI in collaboration with the Apulia Film Commission, the Ministero Italiano per i Beni Culturali the Andalucia Film Commission, Arte Sonora Estudios and Cineuropa.

DISTRIBUTION: MAKE THEM CIRCULATE!

SEFF Industry 2019 organizes a series of conferences and work sessions under the slogan Make them circulate! to offer professionals the knowledge and contacts necessary for the international circulation of their works not only through traditional means of distribution but also encompassing other alternatives and that necessary expansion of visibility made available by digital platforms, cultural centers, schools, film clubs, independent movie theaters, art centers or film libraries, among others.

PROMOTIONAL AND MARKETING WORKSHOP ON INDEPENDENT FILM DISTRIBUTION

Organized by the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts, the SEFF is hosting two sessions to analyze current events and trends in the promotion and marketing of independent and auteur films in Spain. Through round tables, talks, case studies and group work sessions, aspects of new methodologies or the transition from traditional models to contemporary and innovative models that are being carried out in other European countries will be tackled. With the exception of group work, the rest of the activities would be open to festival accredited participants in general. Confirm your attendance here.

THINK TANK: NETWORKING OF EUROPEAN FESTIVALS

The SEFF hosts a day of work and reflection on the importance of festivals as supporters of talents, education, innovation for the attraction of new audiences and the professionalization of festivals as an agent that influences the performance of productions, especially those that do not reach the commercial cinema screens. The morning session will be a closed meeting between members of the European network Moving Images - Open Borders created in 2017 by Crossing Europe Linz in Austria, European Film Festival Palic in Serbia, Festival de Cinema Europe in Italy, Film Festival Cottbus in Germany, Les Arcs European Film Festival in France and Scanorama European Film Forum in Lithuania. In the afternoon professionals will join as sales agents, platforms, other film festivals or the Cannes Film Festival Market through their professional tool Cinando.

Ada Solomon

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Special programme of conferences, master classes and talks to offer training and advice to the professionals attending the SEFF.

MEETING WITH ADA SOLOMON

A meeting with Ada Solomon, Romanian producer and founder of Hi Film Productions and Micro Film. Throughout her professional career she has produced award-winning films at prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, Venice and Sundance. Solomon has co-produced with more than 15 European countries and has premiered films in more than 50 countries. She is the executive president of EWA (European Women's Audiovisual Network), national coordinator of EAVE, member of the ACE executive committee, as well as a member of the EFA committee.

The activity is divided into two parts, a workshop for the development of fiction or documentary film scripts given by Gualberto Ferrari and another one to develop fiction and documentary film projects by Edgard Tenembaum. The training and advice is aimed at scriptwriters or a team of scriptwriter-director-producer based in Andalusia and with a fiction or documentary feature film project.

Interactive seminar for scriptwriters, directors, editors and producers of fiction and documentary projects. A formative activity to prepare pitches, loglines, synopsis and effective treatments, in which we will learn how to work the best structure to present a demo or work-in-progress of an audiovisual project in order to obtain funding.
